INEC mourns administrative secretary Hauwa Kangiwa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has mourned the passing of its Administrative Secretary in Kano State, Barrister Hauwa Aliyu Kangiwa, describing her as an epitome of excellence, dedication, and professionalism.

Until her death, Barr. Kangiwa served as the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Kano, where she played a prominent role in the successful conduct of the recent bye-election in the state.

She had previously served in the same capacity at the INEC Sokoto State Office before her recent transfer to Kano, where she continued to discharge her duties diligently.

Speaking at a valedictory session held in her honour, the Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Ambassador Zango Abdu, described the late Kangiwa as a well-trained and experienced lawyer, and an accomplished administrator who exemplified professionalism and integrity throughout her career.

Ambassador Abdu expressed deep sorrow over her death, noting that she would be remembered for her distinguished service, humility, and unwavering commitment to duty.

“Barrister Kangiwa was a source of inspiration to many, exemplifying integrity, compassion, and devotion to duty. While she has since been laid to rest, the Commission joins her family, friends, and colleagues in mourning her passing while celebrating her life of service, character, and faith,” he said.

He added that her demise was a great loss not only to the Commission but to all who had the privilege of working with her.

“The entire INEC family in Kano State and across the nation mourns her passing and celebrates her life of honour and selfless service. The Commission extends its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, and prays that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants her Aljannatul Firdaus and gives her loved ones the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the REC stated.
