Insecurity: Kogi police seek collaboration on intelligence, information sharing

• State govt hails Faleke over security patrol van donation

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Millet Dantawaye, has appealed to the people of the state to always supply them with credible intelligent information to curb criminal activities in the state.

He made the appeal at the First Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Lokoja, during a thanksgiving service of Mrs Salami Aderin Eunice, mother of Mr Segun Salami of Channels TV correspondent in Kogi state who celebrated her 75th birthday yesterday.

He noted that Kogi is a difficult state because it is surrounded by nine states, and some of the hoodlums will always enter the state through those states to carry out their evil activities. He, however, thanked God that they had been able to bring the situation under control.

He appealed to the congregation to always pray for them and the state at large, urging them to provide them with useful information that can help them to curb criminal activities in the state.

His words: “I beg for any kind of intelligence report from you, any information that you can get. It could be in your school, your children’s school, it could be even in the church here. It can be in your place of work,’ he said.

He commended the state government’s effort to fight crime, adding that the government needs the cooperation of the society and individuals to fight crime in the state.

The Kogi State Government has commended the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, James Abiodun Falake, for his unbending commitment to the security and wellbeing of his home state, describing him as “a patriotic Kogite who leads by example.”
Faleke, an Indigene of the state, recently donated a brand-new Hilux patrol vehicle to support the operations of the newly commissioned Smart Police Divisional Headquarters in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Council Area.

The high-tech facility was facilitated by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund in collaboration with the Government of Kogi State to ensure security at every corner of the state by modernising and digitising security operations in the state.

Speaking with journalists yesterday, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, conveyed the appreciation of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the federal lawmaker, stating that Faleke has demonstrated what it means to place security above politics and people’s well-being above personal ambition.
