In response to the rising cost of food and increasing concerns about hunger, the Inspire Lagos Food Market has pledged to combat hunger and promote food security across Lagos State as it marks its first anniversary.

The anniversary will include the launch of a transformative four-day programme titled “Inspire Week.” The anniversary will run from August 19 to 22, 2025, spanning multiple local council areas and engaging thousands of residents.

Anchored on the theme, “Celebrating Real Impact, Fostering More,” Inspire Week will feature a series of high-impact activities designed to empower communities, elevate volunteerism, and reaffirm Inspire Lagos’s commitment to making food more accessible and affordable for low-income families and vulnerable groups.”

The programme will highlight the zero-hunger bootcamp, which is a strategic general assembly of Inspire volunteers and food security experts, featuring masterclass sessions on global best practices and local interventions. Themed “Global Standards and Local Action for Ending Hunger and Food Insecurity through Volunteering,” the bootcamp will equip changemakers with tools to drive sustainable impact in volunteering leadership.

It will have ‘Inspire on the Street,’ a grassroots outreach initiative, which will take food advocacy directly to underserved neighbourhoods through open dialogues, community engagement, and hands-on relief distribution.

Also, there will be an Inspire Food Market Special Edition, a specially curated implementation of the Inspire Food Market intervention model, offering food items at 50 per cent discounted rates, alongside vendor exhibitions and public engagement.
