A SENIOR Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Akin Olujimi, has asserted that it was a violation of the Electoral Act for a Local Government Collation Agent not to sign all the wards result sheets in the state governorship election

NIGERIA-VOTEA SENIOR Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Akin Olujimi, has asserted that it was a violation of the Electoral Act for a Local Government Collation Agent not to sign all the wards result sheets in the state governorship election in Osisioma Ngwa council area of Abia State.

Olujimi, who is the lead counsel for the state All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the April election, Dr. Alex Otti in the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, stated this while speaking with journalists at the end of the tribunal’s sitting on Friday on the legal implication of the submission made to the Tribunal by the local Government Collation Agent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ogwumunka Iheanacho. Mr. Iheanacho said he signed the result sheets of nine out of the 10 Wards in Osisioma Area of Assignment.

According to Olujimi part of the things we are complaining about was that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and PDP were doing what they liked. They failed to recognise that only the authorised collation agents were allowed to sign the results at the ward and local government levels.
