MALAMMADORI Local Council of Jigawa State yesterday said it had distributed 20,017 bags of assorted fertilisers to farmers this season.
The Head of Agriculture Department in the council, Alhaji Danladi Ado, told newsmen in Malammadori that the fertilisers were distributed to farmers in the 11 wards of the council.
Ado said that improved variety seeds of rice, sorghum and maize were also distributed to farmers at Arki and Tashena communities.
“The distribution committee had successfully distributed various brands of fertilisers and seeds to farmers in the area,” he said.
Ado said the commodities were given to farmers at subsidised rate in line with the state government’s directives.
