Jigawa LG sets up 13-member Hajj C’ttee
Alhaji Aminu Sule, the Caretaker Chairman of Gagarawa Local Government Council of Jigawa, has constituted a 13-member committee for this year’s Hajj.
The Information Officer of the council, Malam Ahmad Sulaiman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that the committee, which was inaugurated ahead of the exercise, had Aminu Sule as Chairman and Adamu Ibrahim as Secretary.
He said that the committee was to ensure timely preparation and proper management of the 24 Hajj seats allocated the council by the state Pilgrims Welfare Board.
According to him, 13 intending pilgrims have been screened so far as part of plans to ensure timely preparation by the pilgrims.
Sulaiman pointed out that the council had taken adequate measures to ensure that only indigenes of the area were given the seats.
