GENERAL Martin Luther Agwai has been relieved of his job as chairman of Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), and in his place, the former chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Mr. Ishaya Dare Akau, has been appointed.

According to a statement Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the decision was in furtherance of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration’s efforts to continuously re-energize and reposition agencies of the Federal Government for optimal delivery.

Akau, whose appointment takes immediate effect yesterday, hails from Kaduna State, just as his predecessor, and holds a Bachelors’ Degrees in Arts and Law, and “comes to the job with years of experience as a high-level administrator in the nation’s public service.”

President Jonathan thanked the outgoing chairman for his service to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
