Kogi Police parades 20 suspects for kidnapping, robbery

Police in Kogi yesterday paraded 20 suspects for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms and culpable homicide.Exhibit recovered included four AK47; four pump action, two pistols and 200 live ammunitions, one dane gun and two double barrels.

Parading the suspects, the commissioner of police Wilson Inalegu indicated that one Aishatu Shehu was kidnapped by a gang of six and later released after the collection of N500, 000 ransom. He said the suspects led the operatives to Igalamela/Adolu where the exhibits were recovered.

Continuing the commissioner said one Yakubu Abdullahi another suspected kidnapper was arrested after attempting to kidnap the children of one Ahuruoye Michael, the manager of Nigeria Institute for Palm Oil Research Ebune from St. Peter and Paul Nursery School Ebune.

One of the suspects Musa Audi who confessed to have committed the crime said they kidnapped a Fulani woman named Aishatu Shehu in Ajaka. Bodori Alhaji Ide said he was not part of the kidnap, but was given N10, 000 that he did not know its source.

On criminal conspiracy and armed robbery CP. Inalegu said three suspects; SARS operatives while on patrol along Ikeje-Otukpa Branch road arrested Enemona Godwin, Solomon Anthony and Happy Ameh. He said the gang blocked the road and were robbing traders heading to Orbs market in Enugu.
