• Wants conglomerate to be big player in agriculture, industry, education
• Use competitive advantage to drive operations of Ekiti Airport, Raji urges govt

Founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Afe Babalola, has implored the management of Odu’a Investment Company Limited to make the company become more visible in all the South-Weststates, including Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and Lagos.

Babalola also admonished that the Yoruba conglomerate should be a big player in the agriculture, industry and education sectors, which were the main cardinal focus areas of the founding fathers of Odu’a Investment Company Limited.

The legal luminary gave the advice, yesterday, during a working visit of the outgoing Group Managing Director of the company, Adewale Raji, and the incoming GMD, Abdulrahman Yinusa, to ABUAD in Ado-Ekiti.

Babalola lauded Raji’s doggedness and forthrightness in shaping the company’s new board governance structure, which has helped ensure continuity and stability of its businesses.

The founder of ABUAD, while aligning with the eight sectors of investment of Odua group in the area of real estate, hospitality, financial services, agriculture, energy/power, ICT/digital, healthcare/pharmaceuticals and logistics/e-commerce, charged the incoming GMD to ensure continued contact with Raji even after retirement for proper guidance.

However, the outgoing GMD, in his remarks, said that Ekiti International Cargo Airport should start with a flight that would contain between 30 and 50 passengers to strategic states, such as Ibadan, Lagos and Abuja.

This, he said, would enable connectivity if the flights are consistent in terms of timing.

Raji thanked Babalola for being a pillar of support in his 10 years journey, including advisory services from his law firm that has helped in laying solid foundation for future exponential growth under the leadership of Abdulrahman Yinusa as the GMD.

Also, Abdulrahman Yinusa, in his remark, said that his priority upon taking up the mantle of leadership would be to build on what he met on ground.
