PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) aspirant in the recent Abia State governorship primaries, Sir Marc Wabara has congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari on his election as Nigeria’s next president.

Wabara also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship in conceding defeat “even before the formal declaration of a winner of the polls.”
According to Wabara,:“By so doing, President Jonathan has written his name in the annals of promoters of democracy, as this gesture will immensely deepen our nascent democracy.”

Noting Buhari’s long-standing quest for the presidency, Wabara said the victory “is a glowing testament to General Buhari’s strength of character and perseverance,” adding that such “uncommon doggedness” has equipped the president-elect with immense wisdom to lead the nation aright.

Wabara noted that Nigeria has a surfeit of human capital, urging Buhari to “painstakingly tap into this rich reservoir” in choosing his cabinet.
“In assembling his ‘dream team’ he must look beyond partisanship,” said Wabara. This is the only way the president-elect can achieve speedy national growth and development, moreso as he has assured that there shall be no bias against any Nigerian based on ethnicity, religion, region, gender or social status.”

The PDP stalwart applauded Buhari’s resolve towards “*just and principled governance,” *urging the president-elect to adopt a no-victor- approach in running his administration.
