Mobile courts convict 41 for traffic, environmental offences
Barely a week after they were inaugurated, Lagos State Mobile Courts have convicted no fewer than 41 offenders arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Task Force) for various traffic and street trading offences.
The mobile courts, which simultaneously sat at open spaces in Apapa, Oshodi and Agege Local Government Councils yesterday convicted 41 out of 52 arrested for offences punishable under Section 10 (1) (a) Street Trading and Illegal markets prohibition Law of 2003.
The offenders were made to pay various fines as an option to three to six months imprisonment. Two motorcyclists and four tricyclists that were also prosecuted have their cases struck out for lack of proper documentary evidences.
