Family seeks N58m for daughter’s liver transplant

The family of the late Asingbi in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State Capital, has called on public spirited individuals, corporate bodies and the government to come to their aid and save their daughter, Weriwoyengipre Asingbi, who is suffering from a life threatening liver disease.

Weri, a 37-year-old graduate of History and Diplomacy from the Niger Delta University, Amassoma, was diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis (Decomposited Liver Disease) secondary to Autoimmune Disorder.

She is being treated and managed at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) but doctors said she required about $31,000 about N58 million for liver transplant at a hospital in India.

Apart from the huge amount required for both the transportation/accommodation, Weri also needs a donor for the transplant which is expected to take place at Medanta Medic Clinic in Gurugram, India.

The family is therefore soliciting funds from the public, including international donors to help save their daughter.
