12-year-old boy seeks N4m for life-saving surgery

A 12-year-old boy, Enoch Adeboye Ayomide, diagnosed with ruptured intestines, is in urgent need of N4 million for corrective surgery and medical expenses at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
According to his father, Mr Lawal Paul Ayomide, the boy’s ordeal began in 2024, shortly after Easter, when what seemed like a minor stomach ache escalated into a critical condition.
“It started with stomach pain, which we treated as typhoid and malaria. But his condition worsened, with uncontrollable bowel movements and severe abdominal swelling. Weeks later, his navel burst, leading to a severe infection,” he recounted.
Following an emergency referral from the General Hospital in Isolo to LUTH, doctors discovered that chronic typhoid had punctured Enoch’s intestines, contrary to initial suspicions of a ruptured appendix.
Surgery to address the condition was successful, but it left the boy with a colostomy, causing his large and small intestines to remain outside his body. For over six months, Enoch has been unable to pass stool through his anus.
Doctors have recommended a second surgery to reposition the intestines and restore normal bowel function. However, the family cannot afford the N4 million needed for the procedure.
“We appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to help save our son’s life,” Mr Ayomide pleaded.
Donations can be made to Polaris Bank Account No: 1900664933, Account Name: Enoch Adeboye Ayomide. The family can also be contacted on 08101544519.
