Bayelsa at 29: IPAC lauds Diri’s achievements

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has commended Governor Douye Diri for what it described as his landmark achievements in governance, congratulating him on the 29th anniversary of the state’s creation.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Simeon Imomotimi, and Secretary, Pastor Peace Oruama, the council praised Diri for delivering the dividends of democracy, particularly in infrastructure, social services, transportation, education, sports, and healthcare.

According to the statement, Governor Diri “stands tall and unmatched among those who have administered Bayelsa so far, especially in infrastructural development.”

The group highlighted completed and ongoing projects, including the Glory Drive phases 2 and 3, the Yenagoa City–Airport Road, the AIT/Igbogene Outer Ring Road, the Onuebum–Otuovke Road, the Etegwe–Amassoma Road expansion, the Ogu–Akaba–Okodi Road, and the Prosco Road project.

It also noted that Diri has advanced work on the three senatorial roads, Ekeremor–Agge, Nembe–Brass, and Angiama–Oporoma, describing the near-completion of the Angiama Bridge as a milestone with significant socio-economic impact.

IPAC further applauded the governor for upgrading sports infrastructure, particularly the ongoing construction of an Olympic-standard stadium in Igbogene, as well as for improvements in the state’s educational and healthcare systems.

While praising his administration’s achievements, the council urged Diri to give priority to potable water supply and affordable housing to meet the needs of the state’s growing urban and rural populations.

IPAC reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with the government, stressing that “only through collective partnership can the dream of turning Bayelsa into an Eldorado be achieved.”
