Driver dies as trucks collide in accident

A collision between two trucks near Cane Village in the Maryland area of Lagos State has claimed the life of a driver, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, attributing the accident to brake failure.

The agency received distress calls around 12:08 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.

Upon arrival, responders found a concrete mixer truck, registered as DGW 208 XA, had lost control due to brake failure.

LASEMA’s team has since implemented safety protocols to secure the scene and set up traffic control measures to manage congestion in the area.
