The Kano State government has further reviewed the 24-hour curfew, now imposing it between 6pm to 6am.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday at the Government House, Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Dogo Salman, said the decision was reached after a security council meeting with the state government.
Commissioner Salman stressed the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state while gradually easing restrictions to allow residents to resume their daily activities.
He noted that the decision to relax the curfew hours reflects the improved security situation and the efforts of the security agencies in restoring normalcy in Kano.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf imposed the 24-hour curfew on Thursday following the violence during the #EndBadGovernance protest in the state.
The curfew was initially reviewed by five hours on Friday to enable Muslims to observe the congregation prayer.
Until the recent extension, residents were restricted to freedom between 8am and 2pm for the last three days.
