Lagos food hub will stabilise prices, says Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, said the 220 hectares Lagos State Food Security Systems and Central Logistics Hub at Ketu-Ejirin, Epe, will ensure food sufficiency for Lagosians and stabilised market prices when completed in the second quarter of 2025.
The governor said this during a working visit to the Lagos State Logistics Hub, Inspection of Psychiatric Hospital, and also at the Inaugural Isimi Lagos Festival at Isimi Lagos Wellness and Polo Country Estate, Epe, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu, who expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the Epe food hub, assured that ongoing work at the Ajah, Festac, and Oregun food hubs will soon be completed.
The governor restated the commitment of his administration to mitigate shortages and protect residents from food insecurity, saying the project with a parcel of land divided into four parts will have a truck park, clinic, and largest Abattoir in Africa among other facilities.
The governor at the inspection of the Psychiatric Hospital at Epe also said the 25 hectares and five hundred beds accommodation hospital which is 50 percent done would be completed by the last quarter of next year with facilities that include a consultation room among others would address mental-related issues in patients.
Speaking earlier at the Inaugural Isimi Lagos Festival at Isimi Lagos Wellness and Polo Country Estate, Epe, the governor said the project which served as a relaxation centre was in commitment to the state government’s efforts at enhancing tourism development and growth in the state.
