The enforcement team of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) cleared an illegal dump site in Ketu on Saturday.

The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the LAWMA enforcement team conducted the clearance operations at an illegal dump site located behind 68, Oduntan Street, Ketu.

According to Wahab, this action targets an unauthorized waste disposal area that has been causing environmental hazards in the neighborhood.

“We are clearing all accumulated waste and will deploy surveillance measures to prevent recurrence. Residents are reminded that illegal dumping violates Lagos State environmental laws and endangers public health,” he wrote on X.

The commissioner urged Lagosians to report waste violations in their areas to LAWMA on its official X account, @Lawma_gov immediately.
