A married man, Olademeji Arowokoko, has approached the customary court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to seek the dissolution of his six-year marriage to his wife, Idera Arowokoko.
Oladimeji blamed his wife for the setbacks in his bricklaying work, claiming that ever since she moved into his house, things have not been going smoothly for him.
The father of two cited a lack of love, frequent fighting, and stubbornness, among other issues, as the reasons for wanting to divorce his wife, saying he was tired of the marriage.
In her defence, the wife told the court that she was not responsible for her husband’s predicament, insisting that she and her husband had started having issues in their marriage since her mother-in-law had told her son that she was the cause of his problems.
She said that since she had packed up her belongings from her husband’s house with her second child, who was three months old, her husband never bothered to visit her at her parents’ residence to resolve the issue.
The young mother, who wondered why her husband went to court without a peaceful discussion about solutions, said he had continued to frustrate their relationship since her mother-in-law claimed she was the problem in his life.
She added that she was prepared for divorce and would be free from the constant accusations of being responsible for her husband’s career setbacks.
The court, however, adjourned the case for further hearing.
