Obaseki appoints Akemokhue as Okpella monarch
The Edo State Government on Friday presented a letter of appointment to a new traditional ruler in the state, His Highness, Lukman Oghehemhime Akemokhue as the Okuogbellagbe of Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Council in the state.
Presenting the letter of appointment at the Ministry of Local Government, Edo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Monday Osaigbovo, said the State Executive Council approved the appointment of Lukman Oghehemhime Akemokhue as the Okuogbellagbe of Okpella.
According to him, the appointment takes effect from 26th September 2024.
The Commissioner added that by the appointment, it is expected that, “The people of Okpella will be happy, and development will be rapid following the installation of the new king.”
In his acceptance speech, His Highness, Lukman Oghehemhime Akemokhue, the Okuogbellagbe of Okpella thanked the state government, the security agencies, and the Okpella kingmakers as well as the Okpella people for the opportunity to serve as their traditional ruler.
