Ogun seals bakery, church over environmental pollution

Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) yesterday sealed Imole Ayomi Bakery and End-Time Grace Apostolic Church for violation of environmental laws.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Farouk Akintunde, disclosed this to newsmen in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Akintunde said that Imole Ayomi Bakery, located along Abiola Way, Asero in Abeokuta, was sealed for air pollution, which had serious consequences on public health.

He also said that End-Time Grace Apostolic Church at Ago-Oko was sealed for sound pollution, which was also a threat to public health and a disruption to community peace.

“These places were sealed for failing to adhere to environmental standards despite receiving prior warning from OGEPA,” Akintunde said.

The OGEPA boss emphasised its commitment to creating a healthier and sustainable environment for all while encouraging residents to report environmental violations to the Agency in safeguarding the environment.
