One dead, another injured in Epe truck accident
A man lost his life in a collision between a mini-truck and an articulated lorry at Araga Bus Stop, Poka Road, in the Epe area of Lagos.
The mini-truck, carrying Dangote Cement, was hit by an unidentified articulated lorry attempting to overtake it.
The impact caused one of the motor boys riding on the back of the mini-truck to fall, resulting in his death.
The articulated lorry fled the scene.
The head of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the incident, stating that LASEMA’s Whale Response Team was dispatched following distress calls. Upon arrival, they found the mini-truck and the deceased motorboy.
The victim’s remains were recovered and handed over to the police.
In a separate incident, a truck carrying scrap metal overturned near Maryland Roundabout in Lagos. The truck driver lost control while navigating the roundabout at high speed, spilling its contents onto the road.
Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident, as the driver and his assistant escaped unharmed.
LASEMA’s Cobra Response Team responded to the scene and ensured the safety of responders and road users.
