The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the death of three people after a cult clash between the Greenlands and Bobos cult groups in the state.

The incident happened in Igbogene community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

One of the victims was the son of a former leader of a community vigilante known as ‘Money Sweet’.

It was learned that the cultists, numbering 10, were armed with dangerous weapons as they invaded the community at about 8 pm.

A resident who pleaded anonymity said that the first person who was shot was the son of the former community leader.

He said, “He was shot close to his house. The second person, who was not a cultist, was shot when he could not disclose the whereabouts of his elder brother.”

The Bayelsa State Police Spokesperson, Musa Mohammed, confirmed the incident to journalists and affirmed that Donaldson Mison, aged 28; Addy Mulan, aged 27; and Greenboy Dudella, aged 29, were shot dead.
