Two killed, one injured as gunmen attack Plateau village

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Tuesday night attacked Daron village in Gyel District of Jos South Local Council, Plateau State, killing two people and injuring another.

The incident reportedly occurred around 7:50 p.m. President of the Berom Youths Moulders Association, Mr Solomon Dalyop, confirmed the attack, identifying one of the victims as Mr Pam Choji. He said the assailants, believed to be armed Fulani, opened fire on residents despite earlier warnings of planned raids on Gyel and neighbouring communities.

Dalyop said: “At about 7:50 p.m. on October 21, 2025, bandits suspected to be armed Fulani attacked and shot dead two people, among whom is one Mr Pam Choji, and injured another at Daron village in Gyel District, Jos South.”

Reacting, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident, saying: “Yes, we are aware of the incident. We have just finished our monthly press briefing, and we are moving to the community right now.”
