We’ll continue to partner traditional institutions—Aiyedatiwa

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has said his administration will continue to partner with the traditional institution to bring more development to the grassroots.

The governor made the remark on Saturday at the 5th coronation anniversary of the Olowo of Owo in Ondo State, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, held at Mydas Resort in Owo.

Aiyedatiwa, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor commended the Olowo of Owo for his dedication to the development of Owo kingdom and its people.

“Kabiyesi, you have demonstrated exemplary leadership in fostering peace amongst our people in Owo and the state at large over these five years,” Aiyedatiwa said.

“On behalf of the good people and government of Ondo State, I wish to felicitate you on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of your ascension to the throne of your forefathers. May your reign continue to be peaceful and progressive.”

The Olowo of Owo, in his address, expressed gratitude to God for the development in Owo and a peaceful reign.

Oba Gbadegesin reaffirmed his commitment to consolidate on the economic opportunities from cultural tourism and engage the youth of the kingdom through agriculture and sports.

Remarking, chairman of the occasion, retired Justice Adesuyi Olateru-Olagbegi and Chief Jamiu Ekungba said the reign of the monarch has brought significant strides to Owo kingdom.

The anniversary celebration also featured a fundraising event and the conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished individuals who have contributed to the development of Owo Kingdom.
