Shettima, Akpabio, others felicitate with Oluremi Tinubu at 65

Laud her lifelong commitment to love, service

Vice President Kashim Shettima has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, describing her as a symbol of grace, compassion, and service to the nation.

Shettima hailed the First Lady as an “inestimable mother of the nation” whose impact has transcended her immediate family to touch millions across Nigeria through her compassion, philanthropy, and quiet strength.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, also celebrated Oluremi Tinubu on her 65th birthday, praising her as “a lifelong beacon of love, strength, and service to her husband, the underprivileged, and the nation.”

Also, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, called her “a patriotic Nigerian per excellence,” noting how her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has transformed from a First Lady’s project into a national lifeline for women, children, and struggling families.

Others, who congratulated the First Lady, include Senators Solomon Adeola and Tokunbo Abiru.

Similarly, former Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Senator Gbenga Ashafa, has felicitated with the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, describing her as a woman whose life has been defined by grace, compassion, and unwavering commitment to service.

In a goodwill message, Ashafa noted that the First Lady had, over the years, distinguished herself in public service, from her early days as First Lady of Lagos State, through her impactful 12 years in the Senate, and now as First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He said: “Your legacy of kindness, advocacy for women and children, and tireless devotion to nation-building remain deeply inspiring. From humanitarian interventions to legislative contributions, you have consistently touched lives and shown exemplary leadership.”

Besides, Ashafa described the First Lady as a strong advocate for widows, a mentor to young women, and a voice of encouragement to disadvantaged groups. He prayed for God’s continued blessings on the First Lady, saying: “May the years ahead bring you even greater fulfilment as you continue to uplift lives and inspire generations with the light of your service.”

In the same vein, former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has congratulated the First Lady, describing her as the pillar that has supported President Bola Tinubu in firmly holding the nation together.

Obanikoro, who was Oluremi Tinubu’s predecessor as senator for Lagos Central, said as a progressive ally, the First Lady had always been a woman of the people with good intent.

He said: “She has redefined the office of the First Lady and the attendant roles and responsibilities. The kind of support she has offered the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President is what many of us have come to see as the game-changer.

“With intentional observation of the political environment and its nuances, she has continued to fill the gaps either not seen or yet to be attended to by the government. Nothing defines a reliable support system better.

“Therefore, on behalf of my family, friends, and close associates, I wish our amiable First Lady an amazing 65th birthday. May her days be long in the land of the living.”
