The Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, has been honored with the Best Public Servant Leader Award of Excellence by the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership (CIML), Commonwealth Kentucky, USA.
The award was presented at the Management and Leadership Programme with the theme “Leadership, Strategic Management, and Policy Solutions: Advancing Environmental Sustainability in Abuja, Nigeria.
In addition to receiving the prestigious award, Engr. Nkom was inducted as a Fellow and Member of the Board of Regents at the event.
NMCO’s spokesperson, Sade Fatoke, the Institute recognised Engr. Nkom’s exceptional leadership qualities, particularly his commitment to human development, youth empowerment, and skill acquisition, which distinguished him for this accolade.
The Institute commended Nkom for his significant reforms within the Mining Cadastre Office, including the successful automation of the cadastre system.
This advancement has enabled online and real-time Mineral Title Administration and Management, aligning with best practices and positively impacting Nigeria’s mining sector and economy.
