Ambode-KKTHE Lagos State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, has directed commuter bus drivers, motorcycle operators and tricycle owners under the umbrella of the union in the state to come out en masse on Saturday, April 11, 2015 and vote for Mr. Akinwunmi Amobode, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and all the party’s candidates for the House of Assembly.

Agbede gave the directive on Thursday while addressing branch officers from all the 120 branches of the union drawn from all the 57 local councils in Lagos during the monthly meeting of the union at Abule Egba office.

He said members of the union must support the APC because the people of Lagos have really enjoyed dividends of democracy and good governance, hence the need to show solidarity with the party.

He explained that some of the policies of the present administration in the state had helped to boost transport business. For instance, Agbede said the introduction of transport radio has helped to reduce traffic congestion and loss of time in traffic.
“Also, the constant repair and maintenance of roads have helped to reduce wear and tear of vehicles.”

He reiterated that the state council of the union under his leadership would continue to support the government of the state.
