OAU appoints Adeyeye director

oauPROFESSOR Mike Adeyeye has been appointed director, Centre for Distance Learning, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Before his appointment he lectured at the Department of Local Government Studies, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He holds a B.Sc. Political Science (Ibadan), M.Sc. Local Government Studies (Ife) and Ph.D. Political Science (Ibadan), specialising in Public Administration and Governance Studies.

He had earlier serves as director, Centre for Distance Learning, and deputy director, at the same centre from (2013-2015).

He also served as Head, Department of Local Government Studies (2006 – 2008) and vice-dean, Faculty of Administration (2005-2007).

He was also secretary to Obokun Local Government, Ibokun, Osun State (1991-1993). This experience afforded him the practical knowledge of governance and administration.

He has consulted widely for governments and NGOs, the World Bank, United Nations Development Fund (UNDP), AfDB and various donor and international agencies on issues of governance and development.

His current interests are in e-governance and Open, Distance and e-learning.

A pragmatic administrator and international scholar on e-learning strategies, he is also a consultant to universities and organisations regarding strategies associated with developing distance education models.
