Okonkwo Cautions APGA Over March 28 Election Outcome
AS argument continues to surround the authenticity of the winner of the just-concluded March 28 senatorial election in Anambra State, the former senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, has cautioned the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) “not to continue heating up the polity by going on with is unverifiable claim that it won the elections, because it did not win anywhere”.
In a statement made available to The Guardian, Okonkwo wondered why “APGA National Chairman, Victor Umeh, is insisting on laying claim to the senatorial seat” when “ the PDP and its supporters once again proved that the party is the grassroots platform in Anambra.”
The PDP member added that the victory of the PDP in the election “ is a testimony to the strengthen of the party and unity of the members, especially in the face of organised opposition”.
