Okorocha appoints aides, to train officials in Singapore
FOR optimum service delivery in the civil service, the Imo Sate Government will send some permanent secretaries to Singapore on a training programme, the Head of Service (HoS), Calistus Ekenze, said.
Speaking in Owerri after a closed-door meeting between Governor Rochas Okorocha and the permanent secretaries at the Government House, Ekenze said the move was to ensure that the state has people in the top echelon to drive the workforce in line with modern realities.
And though the state is facing financial difficulties due to the dwindling federal allocation, he said, government would put the salary structure in line with what obtains in neighbouring states. He urged the workers to be patient as the state awaits the bailout funds.
Meanwhile, Okorocha has appointed Uche Onwuchekwa as the Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, and A.J. Emeka for Special Duties. In a statement on Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Jude Ejuogu, said the appointments were with “immediate effect.”
