IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has condoled with the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, over the death of his mother, the late Madam Betisie IKpeazu.

In a statement issued yesterday in Owerri, Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, said the information came to the Imo governor as a rude shock, adding that he barely believed it until he reached out to confirm it.

Okorocha regretted that Ikpeazu’s mother died barely seven months into his ascendancy to power and expressed the concern that the Abia governor would miss her useful advice.

According to the statement: “It is also important to note that Madam Ikpeazu had lived, not only a fulfilled life but also an exemplary one, with the kind of life she lived and the quality of those she had left behind to mourn her, including the Abia State governor. The Imo State governor therefore urges the Abia governor to see the mother’s death as the wish of God and to be conscious of that fact while mourning his beloved mother.”
