Okorocha’s wife kicks off fourth phase of Home for the Homeless project
FOLLOWING the successful first to third phases of provision and building of over 152 furnished bungalows for the indigent, orphans and widows across the 27 Local Councils of the state, the wife of the Imo State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha, has commenced the processes of the fourth phase of selecting the qualified persons under her pet project, She Needs A Roof Project (SNARP). The programme kicked off from Owerri North, Owerri West, Owerri Municipal, Ngor Opkala, Mbaitoli and Ikuduru Local Councils of the state.
In the same vein, the governor’s wife at the weekend received a humanitarian service award by the Rotary International Club in Owerri, for providing homes and others to the homeless and indigent in the society.
According to a statement signed by her Chief Press Secretary, Mrs. Nkechi Ezirim and made available to the media on Monday, the intended and prospective beneficiaries verification exercise had been preceded by the search team which began about two weeks ago in the various local councils of the state.
Presenting the rotary award, the District Governor of District 9140, Ijeoma Okoro, said the club recognised her as an “unequalled person” providing homes for the homeless.
