The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Gradely, Boye Oshinaga, has stated that only quality and easy access to learning could grow the world.

At the launch of a partnership with an educational institution, Ehizua, which was held in Lagos, yesterday, Oshinaga said the idea was to set up adequate access to personalised learning resources and support at a reduced cost within the Ajah axis.

He said the project, which he called a remedial school, would help to promote high-quality personalised learning across the developing regions of Lagos for as low as N500/day.

He said: “The remedial school is specifically for children who have learning difficulties that need to be remedied as they prepare for entrance exams such as SSCE, Post UTME, and Common Entrance. It is equally for children that attend low-cost private schools, or are homeschooled due to financial struggles and therefore don’t have proper access to quality education.

“In the past, the regular solution for this would be to enrol the child in a group or private lessons, but with a school specially built to customise learning and solve learning difficulties.

The children can be exposed to a more modern and personalised form of education with digital resources and continuous on-demand support from the best tutors for as little as N500/day.

“We are partnering with innovators, educators and sometimes educational institutions like Ehizua hub to do it. Our plan is that one school can cater for 100 students and we can do up to 10 per Local Government Area and have 100 schools set up with partners across multiple local governments across various sections of the country. Our vision is to significantly improve the outcomes of learning for 20 million students by 2030.”

On his part, the Co-founder and Growth Lead at Gradely, Seyi Adelaju, said: “While EdTech solutions are a powerful means to learn, limited access to digital devices and the internet is a barrier for most learners – especially the ones that need it the most. The Top Graders Remedial School solves this in a way that is both sustainable and scalable.”

The Chairman of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, also promised to re-route over 500 students for the course.
