Oyo, Osun residents will never allow APC back in power, Makinde says
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed optimism that the governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo and Ondo states would win at the election petition tribunal.
He said this, yesterday, while commissioning the completed dualised Stadium Roundabout to Testing Ground Roundabout, Oke-Baale Roundabout and Ilesa Garage Roundabout, a section of Oba Adesoji Adeyemi Way, by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo, Osun State.
Makinde gave the assurance that the people of Oyo and Osun states would never give the All Progressives Congress (APC) a chance to govern again.
The governor, apparently reacting to the statement by National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, that the APC would reclaim Oyo and Osun after winning Ondo governorship election, said such dream would never come true, saying that the people are ready to reject anything that has to do with APC.
He expressed hope that the elections in Edo and Ondo were not yet over, saying the PDP would toll the path of law to reclaim its mandate.
Besides, he said that the achievements of Adeleke were enormous, urging the people of Osun to give him another opportunity to govern the state.
Adeleke, in his speech, said the commissioning of the six kilometres dualised Stadium-Ilesa Garage Road is a fulfilment of the promise he made to the people of the state, adding that the completion of the dualisation within record time has expanded economic growth of the capital city and saved them from untimely death and injuries.
He warned against over-speeding on the road that was initiated by the administration of former governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
The governor said that his government had done over 150 kilometres of completed roads, promising not to relent until the infrastructure is fixed and collective prosperity is achieved in the state.
