Police Recover Sim Card Used In Demanding Ransom, Parade 23 Suspected Kidnappers

For suspected child trafficking/stealing of one Ikenna Ndubuisi (female), aged 4 years, the Habila said that four persons namely Sunday Bassey, Justina Udejime, Mrs Mary Akpan, aged 18 years, and Ewesu Kama, aged 15 years, were arrested following the report made by the child’s mother, Chinaza Ndubuisi to the Police on March 7, 2015.

THE Abia State Police Commissioner, Mr Joshak Habila yesterday paraded 23 suspected kidnappers, child traffickers/thieves, armed robbers and other criminals.

The Police boss also disclosed that upon arrest, a GSM Sim Card, with Number 08029744410, used in demanding and collecting one hundred thousand naira ransom from a kidnapped minor’s father, was recovered from one of those paraded, Uzoma Samuel Anyanwu, aged 35, who hails from Imo state.

For suspected child trafficking/stealing of one Ikenna Ndubuisi (female), aged 4 years, the Habila said that four persons namely Sunday Bassey, Justina Udejime, Mrs Mary Akpan, aged 18 years, and Ewesu Kama, aged 15 years, were arrested following the report made by the child’s mother, Chinaza Ndubuisi to the Police on March 7, 2015.

The child, he said, has been recovered at Ihiala in Anambra state while further investigation led to the arrest of one Comfort Amos Orji (female), aged 18 years, who is awaiting possible prosecution.

According to the police commissioner, “a team of Policemen attached to D7 Section of SCID Umuahia stormed a criminal hideout and arrested the suspect who had on him some quantities of weed suspected to be Indian hemp. The case is under investigation.”
