The Chief Imam of Lafia, Malam Dahaltu Dahiru, has urged all Nigerians to pray for the success of the administration of the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari.

He made the call in Lafia on Sunday during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“I also want to use this medium to call on Nigerians to continue to pray for the incoming administration of retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

“As religious leaders, our role is to preach peace, unity because no meaningful development could be achieved in any society without peace.

“Peace is priceless and non-negotiable and Nigerians must embrace peace for speedy development to be achieved.

“This advice or call becomes imperative because no leader can succeed without the support, cooperation and advice from its citizens,’’ he said.

The cleric also advised the people to pray for the administration of Gov. Al-Makura and other elected leaders to enable them to succeed in providing the dividends of democracy.

He noted that all leaders needed people’s prayers, support and cooperation to enable them to succeed in meeting the yearnings of the citizenry.

He commended Nigerians for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the general elections and enjoined them to continue to live in harmony.

The cleric also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for their efforts in conducting free, fair and credible elections.
