Queens Palm Support Initiative: Empowering Young Women to Lead in Nigeria

Ms. Sabrina Ozma, founder of the Queens Palm Support Initiative (QPSI), is on a mission to equip young women in Nigeria with the skills they need to lead and succeed.

In an exclusive interview, she shared the inspiration behind her initiative, the challenges she faces, and her vision for the future.

Founded on November 4, 2023, QPSI is helping young girls develop what Ozma calls “power skills”—a blend of leadership, confidence, etiquette, and self-reliance.

A devout Christian, Ozma revealed that QPSI was born from a moment of divine inspiration. She explained:

“It came from a place of prayer. I was asking God what to do next because I kept finding young people in places they weren’t meant to be. I had to groom myself, and I realized so many girls need this too.

“That’s why Queens Palm was born—to empower young women to become self-reliant leaders who don’t wait for permission to shine.”

Noticing a gap in education—where essential life skills like poise, etiquette, and leadership are often ignored—she saw an opportunity to fill this need. Having attended finishing schools and earned a certificate in etiquette, Ozma wanted to share these lessons with young women.

For Ozma, equipping young girls with leadership skills is about more than personal growth—it’s about shaping the future of Nigeria.

“Empower a woman, and you empower a nation. No longer do we want to be sidelined. God has ordained us to be so much more.

“We’re open to partnerships, and I look forward to the day the government hears my voice and supports this vision.”

Her dream is to see a Nigeria where women are not just participants but leaders—perhaps even one day, a female president.

This vision is reflected in QPSI’s core motto: “Reset, revive, and renew”, a call to inspire transformation, confidence, and faith.

Currently self-funded, QPSI operates with the help of dedicated volunteers. For now, the initiative is growing through grassroots efforts and a strong online presence.

Ozma’s journey—from studying law and political science to a career in media—has taught her that passion is key to success.

“I thought I’d thrive in law, but I found my voice elsewhere. When you pursue what you love, you’ll excel and become who you’re meant to be.”

As the convener of QPSI and a communications skills expert at Cydia Pro Academy, Ozma is determined to expand the initiative through workshops, mentorship programs, and skill-building seminars. Her message to young women is clear: The tools to lead are within reach—it’s time to seize them.
