
Rep. Aliyu Betara (APC-Borno), has announced a donation of N100 million to support the victims of the flood that hit Maiduguri, the capital of Borno.

Betara, Chairman, of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in a statement in Abuja on Friday, expressed grief over the death and displacement of thousands of residents of the north-eastern state.
He applauded efforts by the state government towards cushioning the effects of the disaster and expressed solidarity with the victims.

The lawmaker said that necessary intervention would be provided through relevant institutions so as to rehabilitate the victims.
Betara, who represents Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya/Kusar Federal Constituency, described as “unfortunate”, the flood disaster which resulted from a breakdown of the Alau dam.
