Retired NSCDC personnel seek review of retirement benefits

Retired personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), have appealed to the federal government through the federal ministry of Interior, to review upward, their retirement benefits reflecting current economic realities.

The officers under the auspices of the Nigeria Association of Retired Civil Defence Officers, (NARCDO), said a review of their benefits will place the corps at per with sister security agencies of government.

In a communique signed by the Public Relations Officer of the association, Danjuma Elisha, Chairman of the group retired Commandant-General,(DCG), Evans Ewurum, noted that “The association is an appendage of the NSCDC and has been assigned specific and well-defined functions of managing the affairs, activities, post service life and living conditions of retired NSCDC officers nationwide.”

Speaking at the the inauguration of a 13-member committee saddled with the responsibility to establish an operational plan for the smooth running of NARCDO, he said “The inaugurated committee is to midwife the effective take-off of the association which was established to primarily cater for the welfare and well-being of its members.

“They are to plan and coordinate actions and activities aimed at producing a blueprint that will lead to a very successful fundraising for the association’s operation.”

He directed the newly set up committee to turn in its preliminary report in two weeks while charging the committee and other members of the association to be absolutely committed to their designated assignment.

Commending efforts of the Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, for single handedly creating an enabling environment for the association to kick-off through the providsion of a properly furnished rented office accommodation for the association, he said the officers will in turn continue to support the agency in it’s stride

Ewurum congratulates the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), minister, Mr Nyesom Wike for his developmental strides since his appointment as he appealed for land allocation to enable NARCDO construct a permanent office.
