Revitalising steel sector key to Nigeria’s economic growth – Isokpunwu
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Steel Development, Dr. Chris Osa Isokpunwu, on Tuesday, emphasized the importance of revitalising the steel sector to significantly boost the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and drive economic transformation.
Isokpunwu disclosed this in Abuja while receiving the Association of Benin Community on a courtesy visit at the Ministry’s Headquarters.
He noted that the association aimed to congratulate him on his appointment as Permanent Secretary by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The Permanent Secretary, while expressing appreciation for the visit, stated that the task of being the Permanent Secretary of a Ministry through which the government wants to expand and grow the economy is a daunting task.
In a statement by the Head of Information & Public Relations, Ministry of Steel Development, Tine-Iulun M.A, noted however, that with the support of the Association and other critical stakeholders in the steel sector, success will be attained.
Earlier, the President of the Association, Lucky Odigie, who led the delegation described the Permanent Secretary as an astute achiever who wants the best for everybody.
