The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into an alleged assault on a lady by police officers along Evo Road, Port Harcourt.

 

The incident was reported on social media, prompting the Command to urge the lady involved to visit the Police Headquarters to facilitate a thorough investigation.

 

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command is committed to identifying the officers involved and taking appropriate action.

 

She noted that the lady’s cooperation was crucial in this regard, adding that the Command has assured her safety and well-being.

She said, “The Rivers State Police Command has also appealed to members of the public to cooperate with police officers during stop-and-search operations, emphasizing that these measures are essential in combating crime and maintaining security.

 

“In addition, the Command has encouraged residents to report any misconduct by police officers through designated channels.”

 

She assured that cooperation from the public is vital in maintaining accountability and professionalism within the state command.
