Sanusi solicits inclusive govt at Braille Bible donation
General Secretary, Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN), Pastor Samuel Sanusi, has called for assistance for the visually impaired and other challenged Nigerians to enable them fulfil their goals in life.
He also lent voice to the recent call by the Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) and the European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria for government at all levels to appoint people with disabilities into government positions across the country.
Sanusi made the appeal during the donation of ten sets of the Braille Bible to the National Braille Press/Library, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviations, Disaster Management and Social Development (Special Needs Department), Surulere, Lagos in response to the ministry’s call for religious braille material.
Chief Social Welfare Officer, Mrs Osifoluke Abiodun, who received the material was very happy that the BSN responded to their request and that the library would become functional again for the visually impaired and others.
She said the library was set up about 30 years ago for those who can see and the visually impaired.
