Preparations for the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Hudu Ismaila Madugu, in Takum Local Government Council of Taraba State are said to be in full swing, with organisers confirming that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free event.

Speaking at a world press conference in Jalingo, the state capital, event organisers, led by Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Tullu, announced that they had secured approval from key stakeholders to proceed with the celebration.

The milestone event, scheduled for April 2025, according to the organisers, will honour the traditional ruler’s three decades on the throne.

The occasion, as stated by Tullu, is expected to attract prominent dignitaries, including General T.Y. Danjuma, who, as mentioned by them, will be among those receiving special awards in recognition of their contributions to society.

“We have the support of critical stakeholders, the traditional institution, and the government to mark the 30th anniversary of the monarch on the throne,” Tullu stated.

The event, they believe, will serve as a platform for the Hausa community in Takum and the wider Taraba State to showcase their rich cultural heritage and express gratitude for their progress. Additionally, the celebration aims to promote peaceful coexistence among various ethnic groups in the region.

A key highlight of the anniversary, as further announced by them, will be the unveiling of a book titled, “A Brief History of the Hausa Community in Takum.”

The publication will document the community’s history, contributions, cultural values, and spiritual impact on Takum and its surroundings.

Other activities planned for the event, as outlined by the organisers, include cultural exhibitions, displays of traditional arts and artefacts, and historical reflections on the social, political, and economic contributions of the Hausa community.

These initiatives, the organisers believe, will serve as a reminder to younger generations of the importance of discipline, cultural heritage, and communal harmony.

“The celebration is expected to foster brotherhood, neighbourliness, and mutual understanding among all ethnic groups in Takum, further strengthening the region’s unity and development,” Tullu explained.
