Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa North West Senatorial District, has distributed 127 new motorcycles to All Progressives Congress (APC) ward executives across 12 local government areas in his constituency, to enhance grassroots party mobilisation.
The donation, flagged off in Kazaure town with Governor Umar Namadi in attendance, was targeted at enhancing the capacity of ward chairmen and other APC officials to effectively coordinate party activities and sustain its dominance ahead of the 2027 elections.
The lawmaker, who also holds the traditional title of Walin Kazaure, stated that the gesture was aimed at enhancing the party’s outreach and deepening its engagement with communities.
“Together, we are moving forward in building a stronger, united, and progressive Jigawa North West and Nigeria at large,” Senator Babangida said.
Senator Hussaini stated that the gesture was part of his commitment to strengthening the ruling party while also supporting community development. He observed that, beyond party executives, other APC stalwarts had benefited from similar empowerment initiatives.
Since assuming office in 2023, the senator said he has implemented numerous constituency projects, including constructing classrooms, providing medical supplies, offering scholarships, promoting youth and women empowerment, facilitating employment, and supporting agriculture through the distribution of fertilisers and farm inputs.
Hussaini further highlighted projects such as the construction of a Mathematics and Statistics Complex Hall at Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, the renovation of schools, and grants to students. He also mentioned youth empowerment through POS business start-ups, vocational training for women, and the reconstruction of township stadiums to league-standard levels.
The event was part of the ongoing citizen engagement programme “Gwamnati da Jama’a”, with Governor Umar Namadi, his deputy, and other APC stakeholders in attendance. Governor Namadi praised the senator for his contributions to the welfare of his constituents and urged other public office holders to emulate such people-oriented initiatives.
He also urged beneficiaries to use the motorcycles to strengthen party structures at the grassroots, adding that the APC remains committed to programmes that improve the lives of Nigerians.
In a related development, Senator Babangida also fulfilled a long-standing personal mission by reconstructing the historic Dambo Palace, the residence of the Emir of Kazaure. The project, which began in 2019, has transformed the palace into a modern architectural marvel, featuring new apartments, living rooms, and a suitable council chamber for the emirate.
Commissioning the palace, His Highness, the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu, praised the senator’s efforts and prayed for Allah’s blessings on his continued service to the people.
