Shettima arrives in Saudi Arabia for bilateral talks, to visit holy sites
Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed in Saudi Arabia where he will hold bilateral talks and visit the mosque of Prophet Muhammad and other holy sites.
He was received at the Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina, Saudi Arabia, by Abdulmohsen Bin Nayef Bin Hamed, the Deputy Governor of Madina Region, along with Nigerian diplomatic officials including Consulate General of Jeddah, Ambassador Mu’azzam Nayaya.
Shettima’s spokesman Stanley Nkwocha, in a statement, said the vice president will proceed from the holy sites to Mecca where he will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah).
The vice president will then head to Jeddah to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank on December 20.
Their discussion will centre on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and enhancing coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria to support the country’s agricultural and economic development.
