Sultan, Fashola, others for NASFAT’s history book launch

Prominent Nigerians will tomorrow gather in Abuja for the launch of Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society’s (NASFAT) first-ever history book.

The event would unveil “Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society: The First 25 Years”, written by renowned historian, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso.

The book documents NASFAT’s journey since it was founded in 1995, highlighting its spiritual leadership, humanitarian work, and role in community development.

The Islamic organisation, with more than 360 branches across the world, is known for combining religious guidance with initiatives in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and youth development.

Earlier this year, the society held its 30th Anniversary Lecture in Lagos, delivered by former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola and chaired by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Wale Babalakin.

The Abuja programme is to attract eminent guests, including the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, who will be the Chief Host.

Others expected at the event include NASFAT President, Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf; NASFAT Board of Trustees Chairman, Abdul-Lateef Olasupo; NASFAT Chief Missioner, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, and NASFAT National Council of Elders Chairman, Yinus Saliu.

The book’s editorial committee is chaired by Moji Hafsa Bello, with Ganiyat Omowunmi Babalola as National Women Affairs Secretary.

Vice Chancellor of the African School of Economics, Prof. Mahfouz A. Adedimeji, is to review the book.

According to the organisers, the publication would tell the story of NASFAT’s founding vision, early challenges, achievements, and the people who shaped its growth. It will also feature archival photographs and accounts of how the organisation has touched lives across Nigeria and beyond.
