Tailor Kills Colleague In Abia
THE Abia State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ezekiel Onyeke Udeviotu, has confirmed the reported killing of an Umuahia-based tailor by his colleague and townsman at a workshop located at 39, Kaduna Street, Umuahia, during a quarrel.
Report stated that the victim, Mr Anthony Kalu, instead of attending sanitation meeting of tailors scheduled for 2 pm on the fateful day, remained in the workshop to work.
Kalu’s alleged killer and colleague, Mr Iheanyi John, who hailed from the same Edda Community in Ebonyi state with the victim as well as shared the same workshop with the victim, confronted the victim for not participating in the meeting. And then argument ensued. Ifeanyi reportedly picked a pair of scissors and stabbed Kalu on the neck, a stab that allegedly caused the victim to bleed from the mouth, nose, eyes and ears. After which, the victim collapsed.
Ifeanyi later ran to the Umuahia Central Police Station to report the case.
The PPRO, while confirming the incident over the telephone, said that investigation has begun to determine the remote and immediate cause of the fracas and death.
