Tinubu congratulates NPA boss Dantsoho on election as IAPH Vice President (Africa)

Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, on his election as Vice President (Africa) of the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH).

In his congratulatory message, the President urged Dr. Dantsoho to sustain the ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Authority, stressing that such efforts are vital to achieving Nigeria’s long-term target of growing the economy to $1 trillion by 2030.

Dr. Dantsoho will serve a two-year term on the management team of the 70-year-old global association, which represents seaports worldwide and will celebrate its anniversary on October 7 in Kobe, Japan.

President Tinubu commended members of the IAPH for the confidence reposed in Nigeria’s candidate, recalling that in 2017, former NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman, was also elected to the same position.

Expressing optimism, the President said Dr. Dantsoho’s election would advance Nigeria’s ambition to fully harness opportunities in the global marine and blue economy, while further boosting the nation’s standing in the international ports and harbours community.
