The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has advised companies to regular re-train their drivers for road safety.

Mr Adekunle Ajibade, the Ogun South-West Zonal Commander of TRACE, gave the advice while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota.

Ajibade reacted on an accident that involved a truck loaded with a company’s goods.

The accident was allegedly caused by loss of control by the truck driver due to speeding.

“The trailer fell at Toll-gate area on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Wednesday,” Ajibade said.

He said that regular re-training would make drivers to be more disciplined and safety conscious.

He warned against employing underage drivers.

“The corps also want to appeal to companies to employ responsible drivers who will not be under influence of alcohol or drugs,” he said.

He reiterated the corps’ commitment to ensuring safety of lives and property on the roads.

He warned drivers to desist from overloading and driving against traffic,” he said.
